'My Youth My Pride' event held at Akhnoor

JAMMU, May 27: More than 1100 athletes demonstrated their skills in tug-of-war and athletics in men and women open categories under 'My Youth My Pride' event organised in Government Higher Secondary School, Sohal, Akhnoor. Vice Principal of the School, Dilnawaz Khan was the chief guest on the occasion, while Ashok Kumar, Zonal Education Physical Officer was the guest of honour. The special invitees expressed gratitude to the J&K Sports Council for hosting the activities in the zone to boost the morale of the prospective athletes. In Junior Boys U-14 (100 mtr), Nitish Kumar stood first, Avinash Kumar (2) and Anil Kumar (3), in Senior Boys U-17 (200 mtr), Rahul Singh (1), Vikas Singh (2) and Vishav Pratap Singh (3), Girls U-14 (400 mtr), Sheha Devi (1), Jyoti Devi(2), Sonali Bhagat (3), Girls U-17 (800 mtr), Nancy Devi (1), Sumana Devi (2), Siya Devi (3), Junior Girls U-14 (800 mtr), Jasmeet Kour (1), Roshini (2), Vaneet Kour (3). In Girls - U-17 (400 mtr), Neeti Devi (1), Priya Devi (2), Sakshi Devi (3), Sub Junior Boys U-14 (400 mtr), Avinash Kumar (1), Shubham Kumar (2), Anil Kumar (3), Mixed Sub Junior, U-10 (100 mtr), Seema (1), Vansh (2), Anjali (3), Junior Girls U-14 (200 mtr), Jasmeet Kour (1), Roshini (2), Vaneet Kour (3), Senior Boys U-19 (1500-mtr), Arun Sharma (1), Manmeet Singh (2) and Nitish Verma (3) Jammu District powerlifting Championship was also organised in Indoor Sports Complex Bhagwati Nagar Jammu. Meanwhile Khelo India Hockey centre Kupwara organised a hockey event in the district.
