NEW DELHI, May 28: Dr. M.L. Dogra, a renowned Indian theatre personality and scholar from Jammu and Kashmir, has been honored with the prestigious "Global Education-Star Excellence Award-2023". The award recognizes his remarkable achievements and contributions in the fields of Computer and Music Education. Presented by the Global National Urban Rural Computer Literacy & Skill Development Mission at India International Cultural Centre, New Delhi, the event was graced by esteemed guests including Koushal Kishore, Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Bollywood Playback singer Arpita Chakraborty, Bollywood Actress Priyannka Tiwari, and S.M. Sahai, Ex D.G.P. of J&K, among others.
Dr. Dogra has made significant contributions to promoting folk theatre awareness through seminars, cultural programs, workshops, and group discussions across India. His extensive body of work includes over three dozen dance drama spectacles, more than 50 lyrical musical plays, books, scripts, and over 2000 songs in Dogri, Hindi, and Punjabi languages, focusing on healthcare and social sectors. His productions have been showcased at various national festivals and received international recognition.
With his experience in the Song and Drama Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Dr. Dogra has played a crucial role in raising awareness about government programs and policies through media activities. He has also dedicated his efforts to promoting the traditional culture of Jammu and Kashmir and has received accolades for his light and sound performances at national festivals and events.
