Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 28: Renowned filmmaker Guneet Monga Kapoor, recipient of the prestigious Oscar Academy Award for her acclaimed documentary "Elephant Whisperers," joined forces with Dr. Kuwarani Ritu Singh to extend outreach and honor the brave soldiers stationed at the international border at Suchetgarh Octroi Post. Accompanied by notable author and spiritual entrepreneur Anita Kumar, producer Mozez Singh, and members of Guneet Monga's family, they gathered to celebrate the soldiers' sacrifice for the nation and address their concerns.
The event, organized by Dr. Kuwarani Ritu Singh and her team, aimed to bridge the gap between the families of martyrs and civilian support groups. It provided a platform for the soldiers and their families to voice their grievances and seek assistance. The heartfelt gathering commenced with soul-stirring Vedic chants and an arti performed by the mahants of the Dharmarth Trust at the revered Shri Raghunath Temple in Suchetgarh, praying for the well-being and safety of the brave soldiers in the border areas.
Demonstrating their commitment to service, Dr. Kuwarani Ritu Singh, Guneet Monga, and their families personally served a home-cooked langar meal to 200 martyr families. This gesture of respect and gratitude ensured their nourishment and well-being during this solemn occasion. The esteemed guests were warmly received by T. Sonam, Officiating Comdt, Y.S. Kumar, DIG (Medical), and Rita Bhagat, wife of DIG (Medical).
As the chief guest, Guneet Monga Kapoor, a distinguished filmmaker, was overwhelmed by the euphoria and patriotism of the Indian soldiers. She expressed her heartfelt support and gratitude to the soldiers and their families. Following the retreat ceremony, Guneet Monga Kapoor and Dr. Kuwarani Ritu Singh presented Commander T Sonam and his battalion with the Indian national flag, accompanied by full honors and prasad for the entire brigade. Commander T Sonam and his team graciously hosted the guests, offering valuable insights into the soldiers' lives and challenges at the border during a guided tour of the post. The slogan "Har behen ki shaan ho tum, humare Bharat Mata ke veer jawan" echoed through the air, celebrating the valor of our soldiers.
Anita Kumar, Mozez Singh, and Kuwarani Ritu Singh expressed their unwavering commitment to bridge the gap between the services and civilian society. Through philanthropic endeavors and planned outreaches, they aim to provide dignity to the unsung heroes at the borders, ensuring their well-being and recognition within society.
In addition to the event's patriotic undertakings, Kuwarani Ritu Singh invited Dr. Navneet Kour, Chairperson of the NGO Support Group, to conduct a Menstruation Awareness Camp for women in the remote villages of the area as part of her ongoing Amanat initiative. This medical outreach program focuses on the well-being of women and children from underprivileged sections of society. Dr. Navneet Kaur emphasized the importance of hygiene and women's health during the camp, which was attended by the faculty from all three DPS schools in Jammu, Nagbani, and Katra.
The event served as a milestone in honoring the sacrifices of our soldiers and establishing a strong bond between the families of martyrs and civilian society. The participants pledged to continue their efforts in supporting and uplifting the brave hearts who safeguard our nation's borders, ensuring their well-being and dignity.
