Police arrest two drug peddler including woman

SAMBA, June 1: Samba Police, under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police Benam Tosh, apprehended two notorious drug peddlers, one of whom is a woman, and seized 550 grams of ganja from their possession. The arrested individuals have been identified as Naresh Kumar, son of Narayan Singh, and Gita Bai, wife of Naresh Kumar, both residents of Dharasiv, Chattisgarh.
A case FIR No. 144/2023 under section 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Samba, and the investigation is currently underway. The Samba Police team, led by Additional SP Surinder Choudhary, along with SHO Police Station Rajeshwar Singh and PSI Davinder Singh, conducted a surprise raid. The raid took place in the presence of Executive Magistrate Ist Class Swarn Singh and independent witnesses.
During the raid, the drug peddlers were caught red-handed while selling ganja in small quantities to addicts at inflated prices within the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba. The arrested individuals are currently being interrogated.
Senior Superintendent of Police Benam Tosh stated that a total of 44 drug suppliers/smugglers have been apprehended by Samba Police in the last four months. One notorious heroin peddler has been detained and placed in jail under the PITNDPS Act 1988, while efforts are being made to apprehend other hardcore heroin smugglers and bring them to justice.
