NCC cadets celebrate World Environment Day

JAMMU, June 1: The 2J&K Girls Bn.NCC wing of Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Govt. College for Women Gandhinagar, Jammu organized a series of activities to commemorate "World Environment Day - 2023" under the Puneet Sagar Abhiyaan from 29th May to 5th June, 2023. The cadets took a pledge to keep their surroundings green and adopt an environmentally friendly lifestyle as part of the MISSION LIFE initiative.
One of the activities included a Poster-Making & Slogan-Writing competition on the theme "Plastic Free India," which saw the enthusiastic participation of 55 NCC cadets. The creative exhibition of thought-provoking slogans and eye-catching posters emphasized the responsibility of keeping the environment clean and green. The winners of the competition were recognized for their outstanding contributions.
Another activity involved a Symposium on the topic "Plastic - a Bane For Future," where 23 NCC cadets shared their views on the negative impact of plastic on marine life and the environment. They also proposed measures to reduce its use and achieve the goal of a Plastic Free India. The symposium was judged by faculty members and awarded the top performers.
The efforts of the cadets and the ANO Lt. Suman Bala in organizing these activities were appreciated by Prof. Minu Mahajan, the Principal of the college. She encouraged the cadets to become ambassadors for raising awareness and making India a plastic-free nation.
