GDC Pouni, observes lecture on fundamental duties and road safety pledge

JAMMU, June 1: Under the Shikshit Bharat Mission, Government Degree College, Pouni, observes a one-day lecture on Fundamental Duties. The college also takes a pledge on Road Safety. The lecture was administered by Dr. Prem Singh, HOD Political Science and IQAC Convener, while the pledge-taking ceremony was conducted by Dr. Tarseem Kumar, HOD Dogri and Convener of the Road Safety Committee. Dr. Udhay Bhanu, Principal of GDC Pouni, supervised the events. Members of the IQAC and Road Safety Committee, Prof. Balbir Kumar, Prof. Jaspal Singh, and Tanpreet Singh, coordinated the events diligently. During the lecture, Dr. Prem Singh emphasized the importance of Fundamental Duties, aiming to reinforce the values and principles expressed in the Constitution among the students. He enlightened them about their rights and duties as Indian citizens and the responsibility to protect the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of the country.
In the second event, Dr. Tarseem Kumar conducted a pledge-taking ceremony on road safety, joined by Prof. Balbir Kumar, Prof. Jaspal Singh, Tanpreet Singh, and the students. The ceremony aimed to raise awareness about road safety issues and minimize accidents and loss of life. The students were encouraged to spread the message and promote road safety as an integral part of their lives.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and staff members.
