GDC Ukhral organizes awareness programme

JAMMU, June 1: The NSS Unit of Govt Degree College, Ukhral, joined hands with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Seminar and Debates Committee to organize an enlightening awareness programme on the theme "Importance of Yoga in Human Health." Held under the auspices of "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav," the event aimed to educate students and staff members on the benefits of incorporating Yoga into their lives.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Prof. Zakir Hussain Naik, NSS Programme Officer of the College. Prof. Suresh Chander, HoD Dogri, served as the resource person and shed light on the profound significance of Yoga in promoting unity and harmony between the mind and body. Emphasizing its numerous health benefits, he encouraged the participants to make Yoga a regular practice.
Prof. (Dr) Shallu Samyal, the College Principal, emphasized the importance of daily Yoga practice for maintaining good health and fitness. Dr. Shafiq Ahmed Katoch, HoD Urdu, advised students to embrace Yoga as a means to cultivate a sound mind within a healthy body. The awareness programme saw active participation from a large number of students, who shared their perspectives on the transformative impact of Yoga in their lives.
The event witnessed the presence of esteemed faculty members, including Prof. Ishfaq Hassan Mir, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed, Prof. Akash Verma, and Lila Devi. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Iftikhar Hussain Lone, HoD English.
This initiative served as a platform to promote the holistic benefits of Yoga and inspire individuals to incorporate this ancient practice into their daily routines. By fostering awareness and understanding, Degree College Ukhral aimed to encourage a healthier and more balanced lifestyle among its students and faculty members.
