Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 1: Under the patronage of Principal Prof. Rajesh Kumar Gupta, G.G.M Science College's NSS unit II organized a summer camp in collaboration with MISSION LIFE and G20 to commemorate World Environment Day. The event commenced with an inauguration ceremony, where NSS volunteers, along with NSS PO Dr. Deepali Mahajan and faculty members, including Dr. Geetanjali Rajput, Dr. Sukh Chain Sharma, Dr. Arjun Rathode, Prof. Preeti Dogra, and Dr. Arti Sharma, took the MISSION LIFE pledge.
The workshop was led by Prof. Preeti Dogra, Head of the Department of Environmental Sciences. MISSION LIFE's core philosophy revolves around "Lifestyle For Environment," encouraging individuals to make positive changes in their daily lives to protect the planet. Prof. Dogra highlighted the success of adopting LED bulbs in India as a means to reduce electricity bills and promote environmental preservation. The workshop emphasized the P3 model-Pro Planet People-and shed light on the principles of "Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle."
The interactive session also included a quiz focused on MISSION LiFE, with four teams of eight NSS volunteers participating. Team A emerged as the winners, followed by Team B and C in second place, and Team D in third place. The event was skillfully conducted by Divyansh Nadh, Himanshu Khajuria, and Sanchit Sharma.
The workshop proved to be an inspiring platform for promoting environmental awareness among the participants. By instilling a sense of responsibility and encouraging sustainable practices, MISSION LiFE and G.G.M Science College's NSS unit II aimed to empower individuals to protect and preserve the environment for a better future.
