Jammu, June 1: A police party led by SHO Miran Sahib Insp. Zaheer Mushtaq, under the supervision of SDPO Rs Pura Nikhil Gogna, established a checkpoint at Kotli Mian Fateh, Miran Sahib, for vehicle inspections.
During the inspection, a motorcycle with registration number JK02 AD2903, traveling from Bishnah towards Miran Sahib, was stopped for suspicious reasons.
In an attempt to evade the inspection, the rider of the motorcycle tried to flee from the checkpoint. However, the alert police team managed to apprehend him. Upon questioning, the individual identified himself as Janak Raj, son of Nand Lal, resident of Rangpur Shadray, Tehsil R.S.Pura, District Jammu. During a personal search, approximately 3 grams of a substance resembling heroin (chitta) was recovered from his possession. A case under FIR No. 108/2023, under sections 8/21/22/60 of the NDPS Act, has been registered at the Miran Sahib Police Station, and further investigation has commenced. |
