BJP leader wants Ramgarh college to come up at place of his choice
4-years on, construction site not selected yet

Early Times Report

Jammu, June 1: Although authorities are trying to evolve a consensus to select a suitable place for the Degree College Ramgarh, a senior BJP leader is trying to get the proposed college constructed at a particular place.
Highly placed sources said that instead of fulfilling the demand of the people to construct a college at the centre place the BJP leader is trying his best to get it constructed in a place that is not centrally located.
After fulfilling the demand of the people of this area, the State Administrative Council in its meeting held on January 15, 2019, under the chairmanship of the then Governor Satya Pal Malik announced 40 new degree colleges including one for Ramgarh.
“Over four years have passed after the announcement of college but authorities have failed to select a place for the construction of the building due to the attitude of that BJP leader”, a source said, adding, “The BJP leader has vested interest in getting the college building constructed at a particular area”.
Presently the Degree College is working in Government School Swankha.
On Wednesday, Principal Secretary, Education Department, Alok Kumar toured the Ramgarh area of Samba district to assess potential sites for the proposed Degree College Ramgarh.
The Principal Secretary was accompanied by the Director of School Education, Jammu, Ashok Kumar; Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Abhishek Sharma and other officers of the education department as well as other senior officers of the District Administration.
The main purpose of the visit was to identify potential locations for the Degree College Ramgarh and also provided a platform for the local population to voice their concerns and seek solutions.
