| Mufti wants UPA to act on Ghaza strikes | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 18- PDP patron and former Chief Mufti Mohammed Sayeed is not happy with the Congress led UPA government’s reaction to the Gaza strikes in which several hundred citizens have lost their lives in surgical strikes by Israel. Expressing serious concern over mute silence adopted by the Congress led UPA government over Gaza strikes; the former Chief Minister strongly condemned the UPA regime for watching Israeli attacks on the hapless Palestinians as mute spectator. " Instead of strongly condemning mass killing of innocent Palestine civilians by the Israelis, UPA regime has been acting on the directions of the United States of America", he regretted and added that the present Congress headed regime has virtually surrendered its interests at the hands of USA. Touching upon his favourite subject of Indo-Pak ties, Mufti cautioned against escalating tension between India and Pakistan and warned that hostility between the two countries would further increase agony and hardship for the inhabitants of Jammu and Kashmir and escalate violence in the sub-continent. Calling for de-escalating of tension between India and Pakistan, Sayeed suggested, that instead of fuelling confrontation, both the countries should formulate a joint mechanism to solve the problem of terrorism. "India and Pakistan have no choice but to jointly fight the terrorism", he opined and suggested the Indian Government to find a joint solution of all problems including terrorism with democratic elected government of Pakistan. He further said that stability and security of this sub-continent would largely depend upon actions of governments of both the countries to solve the present crises. "Leaders of both India and Pakistan must keep channels of communications open as dialogue is the only solution of all problems", he said and reminded that even after Parliament attack the then NDA regime had ultimately initiated dialogue with the neighbour to the defuse the tension.
