Srinagar, Jan 18- Stressing the need for resolving Kashmir issue through a meaningful dialogue, CPI (M) State Secretary Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami today urged India and Pakistan to create space for mutual understanding to resolve issues between them Tarigami, who met UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi in Delhi discussed the post poll political situation of the State, besides deliberated on the sagging peace process and the mounting estrangement between India and Pakistan. Tarigami said that animosity between India and Pakistan had not only impeded the socio-economic progress in the region but also played havoc with the lives of millions of poor people. "The concerns of both the countries could only be addressed when there is a space for mutual trust and the domestic compulsions, either in Pakistan or in India, should in no way become an impediment for peace process between the two," he conveyed to Sonia Gandhi. According a statement issued here, Tarigami conveyed Sonia Gandhi that the challenge for India and Pakistan is to demonstrate that regional issues can be best resolved through peace and dialogue, not through hostility and war. "It is time for all of us, irrespective of political considerations, to unitedly raise our voice against violence, especially at a time when the ties between the two neighboring countries have got strained to a large extent,' Tarigami asserted.
