| Rehman alleges large scale discrepancies in EVMs | | | EarlY Times Report Srinagar, Jan 18- Samajwadi Party state president, Sheikh Abdul Rehman, on Sunday claimed that National Conference and Congress party had stuck a deal for power sharing prior to the elections in the state and alleged large scale discrepancies in the Electronic Voting machines. "Ahead of the elections, National Conference and Congress party had entered into an agreement to form the government in the State; he said and added that ‘elections were a formality,". Addressing a press conference here on Sunday Rehman said that “EVM's were tampered to ensure the win of particular political parties. The elections were not free and fair as claims are being made," he added Launching a scathing attack over Peoples Democratic Party and Bharatiya Janta Party, Samajwadi Party president said that both the political parties played communal politics to ensure their victory in the two regions of the state. He said while on the one hand BJP cashed on Amarnath land controversy in Jammu and on the other hand PDP eyed the vote bank with the same issue in Kashmir valley. Rehman claimed that the coalition government will not be up to the expectations of the people and it won't complete full term .He said the parties that differ on the basic issues can't deliver good governance to the people of the state. Expressing concern over withdrawal of security cover to the members of the Samajwadi party, Rehman said that it is unfortunate that the security of the candidates who contested the polls was withdrawn thus putting their lives in danger.
