GDC Darhal organizes symposium to commemorate World Environment Day

JAMMU, June 5: GDC Darhal took part in the global observance of World Environment Day by organizing a Symposium centered around the theme "Beat Plastic Pollution." The event, held under the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, G20, and Mission Life initiatives, was spearheaded by the NSS Unit (Imdad) of the college. NSS Volunteers showcased their passion and dedication towards environmental conservation.
The program commenced with a pledge, followed by insightful presentations by NSS Volunteers on ways to safeguard the environment and empower youth to address environmental concerns effectively. Prof. Mussaraf Hussain Shah, the esteemed Principal of the college, provided guidance and emphasized the importance of creating an eco-friendly environment. He highlighted various pressing issues such as climate change, marine pollution, population growth, global warming, wildlife crimes, and sustainable consumption.
The coordination of the entire event was led by Dr. Sunil Kumar Mangoch, NSS Program Officer, with support from committee members Dr. Ahsan Ul Rehman Rizvi, Dr. Imtiaz Hussain Shah, Prof. Makhdoom Ahmed, and Prof. Tahir Mahmood. Certificates of appreciation were awarded to all the active participants, acknowledging their valuable contributions.
