UKHRAL, June 5: The NSS Unit of Government Degree College Ukhral organized a series of events to commemorate World Environment Day. This year's theme, "Solution to Plastic Pollution," highlights the importance of preserving Earth's natural resources. The campaign focuses on climate action, nature conservation, and pollution control, while encouraging students to protect and sustain the environment's richness and resources.
The students actively participated in a Slogan/Poster Making competition based on the theme, expressing their commitment to environmental preservation. In the essay writing competition, they emphasized the need to protect the environment and promote sustainable living to restore our planet. Prof. (Dr.) Shallu Samyal, the esteemed Principal of the college, emphasized the importance of collective efforts in safeguarding and preserving Earth's finite resources in her message to the students.
The program was organized by NSS Program Officer, Prof. Zakir Hussain, with the active cooperation of other faculty members. Prof. Iftikhar Hussain, Head of the English Department, provided technical support for the event.
