DIG Sarah Rizvi Visits IRP Battalion Headquarters in Jammu

JAMMU, June 5: Sarah Rizvi-IPS Dy. Inspector General of Police, IRP Range Jammu, paid a visit to the Battalion Headquarters of IRP 12th Nud Samba. During her visit, she assessed the activities carried out by the battalion, reviewed the functioning of the unit, and inspected the security of the premises. A Guard of Honour was presented to the DIG during her visit. Additionally, she inaugurated the newly constructed tradesmen complex of the unit and conducted a Darbar, where more than 160 officers and officials participated. The Darbar served as a platform for the officials to present their grievances, which were promptly addressed by the DIG. She also directed the Commandant to hold regular Darbar and orderly rooms to address the concerns of the Jawans. The DIG assured that welfare measures falling under the jurisdiction of PHQ/APHQ/ZAPHQ would be resolved, and appropriate action would be taken.
During the briefing, the DIGP emphasized the importance of being well-equipped with law and order equipment, as well as the necessary arms and ammunition while performing law and order duties. She stressed the need for restraint while dealing with problems and urged the officials to exhibit discipline, engage in PT Parade/Yoga for overall fitness, and maintain a people-friendly approach.
Abrar A. Chowdhary-JKPS Commandant IRP-12th Battalion expressed gratitude to the DIGP for her visit and for listening to the grievances of the Jawans. He provided a summary of the battalion's activities and duties.
As part of the Civic Action Program (CAP) 2022-23, the DIGP distributed study materials, including school bags, lunch boxes, notebooks, and other stationery items, among 60 school children of Govt. Middle School Mananu Samba.
