Cluster University of Jammu plants trees on Environment Day

JAMMU, June 5: The School of Social Sciences at Cluster University of Jammu commemorated World Environment Day by organizing a plantation drive within its premises on June 5, 2023. The event witnessed the active participation of Dean, Dr. Vishal Sharma, Co-ordinator of the Department of Commerce, Dr. Pooja, faculty members, and students from the School.
During the drive, trees of various species were planted to promote biodiversity and environmental conservation. Dr. Vishal Sharma addressed the students and faculty, highlighting the importance of the day and the responsibility of the younger generation in safeguarding the environment.
He also shed light on the changing climate and its impacts on human society, cultural diversity, biodiversity, and ecosystems.
Dr. Roshi Charak, the Convenor of the event, encouraged the students to continue their efforts in future plantation drives for the betterment of society and the climate. A total of 60 students from the School of Social Sciences, Cluster University of Jammu, actively participated in the plantation drive.
The celebration of World Environment Day at the School of Social Sciences aimed to convey a crucial message to the younger generation about their role in environmental preservation. The event emphasized the significance of saving the environment and the need for sustainable practices to ensure a better future for all.
