‘Forces of terror need to be crushed with iron hand’ Agnishekhar
Panun Kashmir observes ‘Holocaust Day’ across country
1/19/2009 10:33:23 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Jan 19- Several units of Panun Kashmir across the country observed the Holocaust Day today. The Day is being observed every year as the day when the Kashmiri Pandits were subjected to the most horrifying prospect of forced exodus from Kashmir in modern times. This year the day was observed as a solemn protest against the hydra of terrorism that has afflicted our nation and in particular the recent terror attack on Mumbai by Pak sponsored terrorists.
In Jammu the day was observed by paying two minutes silence in the memory of Mumbai martyrs at the Martyrs Memorial Akhnoor on the banks of Chandrabhaga
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Agnishekhar said that the terrorism has assumed a very serious dimension and is threatening the very idea of India. The forces of terror from across the border need to be crushed with an iron hand to protect the life and liberty of the citizens. So far the response of the Indian government is weak kneed and even the diplomatic offensive against Pakistan has failed to yield any results. The recent visit of the British Foreign Minister David Miliband was a disaster as he raked up the obsolete Kashmir issue giving some oxygen to the separatists in Kashmir and Pakistani establishment. .Miliband also exonerated Pakistan from the act of 26/11 displaying the cold war preference for its erstwhile military ally. Panun Kashmir condemned such unsolicited interference in the internal affairs of the country. India needs to send a strong protest to the British Government for its unsolicited colonial prescriptions.
National Spokesman Virender Raina said that the issue of terrorism would be in focus in the forthcoming 3rd World Kashmiri Pandit Conference begging from April 12. Panun Kashmir has been raising the issue of the dangers of pan-Islamic terrorism for the last 19 years and now the nation is paying the price of not heeding its advice and taking its contours seriously, he said and added that for this reason the issue would be dealt in a comprehensive manner in the 3rd WKPC
Holocaust day was also observed at Panun Kashmir units in Delhi, Pune, Vadodara, Nagpur, Jaipur, Dharamshala, Chandigarh and other places. Sanjay Dattattrya, Pran Nath, Bal Ji, Vinod Koul, Om Ji, Neelam, Sudhir and others also paid rich tributes to the martyrs.
