| JU deputy registrar gets PhD degree in Computer Applications | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Jan19- Dr. Raj Kumar, Deputy Registrar University of Jammu has become the first student from the department of Computer Applications (MCA), JU to get a doctoral degree. A student of the first batch of MCA (1996-1999), Dr Raj Kumar was recently conferred a PhD degree from the University of Jammu. He worked under the able guidance of Professor G.S.Sambyal, who is also the registrar of the University and researched on the topic "To study the mechanism of congestion control and multi-class scheduling on internet". He did his MCA in first division followed by a Pre-PhD from the same university in 2001 with distinction in computer networking followed by a PhD in "Computer Networks & Internet". He has also the distinction of becoming the first qualified National Eligibility Test (NET-2004) student in 'Computer Science and Application' from the University of Jammu. Presently working as the Deputy Registrar from April 2008 in the Administration, University of Jammu, Dr. Raj Kumar, earlier worked for six years as Assistant Registrar from 2002 – March 2008 in the College Development Council, Examination Wing and Centre for Adult/Continuing Education and Extension & Field Outreach of the University of Jammu. He also performed the duties as Assistant Programmer from August 1999 - January 2002, Department of Computer Sciences University of Jammu. |
