| Charges framed against then Patwari Halqa Siot | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Jan 19- Additional Sessions Judge Anticorruption Jammu Sanjeev Gupta today framed corruption charges against Patwari Romesh Chander then posted Halqa Siot Tehsil Sunderbani District Rajouri, who was caught red-handed by the Vigilance organization team on April12, 2008.
According to the case on April 4, 2008 when Romesh Chander was posted as Patwari Halqa Siot demanded Rs 1500 as illegal gratification from the complainant for reflecting entry of his land measuring 8 Kanal 14 Marlas situated at Village Siot. On this the complainant lodged a complaint with the Vigilance Organization, which registered a case under FIR No 8/2008 and constituted a trap team and on April 12, 2008. The team laid a trap and caught red-handed Romesh Chander Patwari and recovered Rs.1500 bribe money from his possession in presence of the witnesses. After completion of the investigation VOJ presented challan in the Court.
Additional Sessions Judge after perusal the challan said that the act of the accused mentioned in the challan is punishable u/s 5(2) r/w 5(1) (d) PC Act 2006 and 161 RPC and directed trial of the case. JNF |
