| Autonomy will lead to disintegration of J&K: JSM | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Jan 19- Strongly condemning the statements of Omar Abdullah and Farooq Abdullah that ‘greater autonomy’ is the only solution that can keep the state united and while seeking the solution of Jammu and Kashmir problem the Government of India should talk to Hurriyat and other separatist leaders. JSM (P) leaders today warned that greater autonomy or such like solutions if insisted upon shall accelerate the process of disintegration of Jammu and Kashmir State. ‘People of Jammu region and that of Ladakh shall oppose vigorously any such solution that makes Kashmir politically more powerful and perpetuates its domination on them’, the JSM (P) said. The people of these regions take upon any such move as step towards secessionism that weakens the ties between India and the state and they are against this, the Morcha observed. In a joint statement issued here today the JSM leaders including its President Prof. Virender Gupta, Abdul Rauf Ganai, Capt. Anil Gour (Retd) and Digvijay singh while reacting to the recent decision and the statements issued by Omar Abdullah and Dr. Farooq Abdullah said that involvement of Hurriyat and other separatist leaders who are working against India as stooge of Pakistan and other foreign agencies, in finding solution of Jammu and Kashmir problem shall amount to inviting outside interference in the internal matter of the country. Criticizing the Chief Minister’s statement at the Unified Command, the JSM leaders said that statement has been issued at such a juncture when about 1000 militants are active in the state and there are consistent attempts by the militants to sneak into the Indian Territory and the security forces have been kept on high alert on the borders and inside This sends wrong signals amounting to demoralize the security forces and have negative impact on their performance. The message from the Chief Minister should have been no tolerance towards the militant activities and any slackness in meeting the challenge of terrorism is punishable. Revoking detention of 15 PSA detenues, engaged in terrorist and anti-national activities and their release from the respective jails, plans of restoring powers of the deputy commissioner by dissolving state screening committee consisting of members including one from the central government is another action of the present government that is uncalled for and dilution of central government powers in the present situation. JSM (Progressive) condemns these actions of Omar Abdullah’s regime and in such circumstances the party demands that Public Safety Act against Swami Dinesh Bharti be immediately revoked who is a known patriot and has done nothing that goes against the integrity and sovereignty of the country. |
