DC reviews progress of Jal Jeevan Mission schemes

RAJOURI, June 10: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Vikas Kundal, today chaired a meeting to review the progress made under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) schemes in the district. The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Khurshid; SE Hydraulics, Bharam Jyoti Sharma; EXEN Jal Shakti Rajouri, Ashwini Sharma; EXEN Jal Shakti Nowshera, Vipin Kumar and other concerned officers.
During the meeting, the DC emphasized the importance of providing safe and adequate drinking water to the people in rural areas, which is essential for their health and well-being. He also urged stakeholders to focus on quality work, timely completion of projects, and proper supervision to ensure the successful implementation of all JJM schemes in the district. The meeting highlighted that out of the 293 approved JJM schemes, work on 176 schemes is in progress. The laying of piped network has been progressing well, with 990 Kms of piped network already laid against the target of 13520 Kms. The DC also reviewed the progress regarding the forest clearance issues on JJM schemes. To ensure that the work on the JJM schemes is completed at the earliest, the DC called for outcome-based efforts and strict adherence to timelines. He asked the concerned officers to work with added zeal and make dedicated efforts to ensure the successful implementation of JJM in the district of Rajouri.
