| Leh district plan implementation reviewed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, JAN 19:To review the progress and performance under district plan for the year 2008-09, a 3-day General Council Meeting of LAHDC, Leh began here today under the chairmanship of Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh Mr. Chering Dorje. The Chief Executive Councilor, Agriculture and Education Mr. Tsering Norboo Lampa, Executive Councilor Health, Mr. Dorje Motup, Executive Councilor, Minority Affairs, Mr. Mohammad Khan and Executive Councilor, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Mr. Stanzin Delik were present in the meeting and gave detail summaries on the performances of different sectors, which are under their charge. The Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of LAHDC, Leh, Mr. Ajeet Kumar Sahu and the district officers were also present in the meeting. Addressing the inaugural session of the General Council Meeting, Mr. Chering Dorje said that the plan outlay of Leh district for the year 2008-09 was Rs 60 crores, out of which Rs 34.98 crores have been spent upto ending December 2008, registering an expenditure of 58.31 percent against last year’s corresponding expenditure of only 42 per cent. He said that 55.80 percent expenditure also recorded against the outlay of Rs 10 crore under NABARD for 2008-09. It was told in the meeting that Under Agriculture, Rs 75.87 lakh has been spent out of the outlay of Rs 144.91 lakhs. Similarly, Rs 1150.87 lakhs expended out of Rs 1868.43 lakh under Road and Buildings, Rs 165.14 lakhs out of Rs 300.70 lakhs under community development and Rs 121 crore spent against Rs 186.41 crore under Flood Control. Expressing satisfaction over the good achievement in the expenditure and the progress of developmental works in the district, the General Council headed by the CEC, Mr. Chering Dorje appreciated the Deputy Commissioner, Leh and the administration for their excellent performances under district plan. Mr. Dorje said that during the Governor’s rule in the State, the LAHDC, Leh had demanded an additional fund of Rs 15 crore to complete the important nature of developmental projects and accordingly, the Leh district has so far received Rs 11 crore of additionally. |
