DC Jammu reviews arrangements for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2023

JAMMU, June 12: Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Avny Lavasa today convened a meeting to review the arrangements for smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2023 here in DC Office complex.
SSP Chandan Kohli; Commissioner JMC, Rahul Yadav; ADC, ADM Sandeep Seointra; RTO, CMO SDMs, along with senior officers from Jal Shakti, JPDCL, Tourism, Information & PR, Security, Health, CRPF and representatives from various religious organizations and other stakeholders were present in the meeting.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review regarding arrangements of all the facilities including accommodation, barricading, security arrangements, installation of technical equipment and wi-fi, Public Address System, the provision of power and water supply cleanliness, sanitation and medical facilities at registration counters, Lodgement centres and especially in the Jammu Base Camp- Yatri Niwas.
It was informed to the Chair that in all five counters have been established for Tatkal registration of the pilgrims at Vaishnavi Dham, Mahajan Sabha, Panchayat Ghar and two at Geeta Bhawan and Ram Mandir for the registration of Sadhus.
It was also apprised that a token counter has also been established at Saraswati Dham for the disbursement of pilgrims and crowd management.
The meeting was further informed that the pilgrims can get their RIFD cards from counters at Vaishnavi Dham and Railway Station.
Regarding cleanliness, sanitation, lights and mobile toilet facilities at Yatri Niwas, lodgement centres, registration counters etc, the Municipal Commissioner, Jammu assured that needful will be done as per the past practice.
The DC directed the senior officers of police department to ensure that every langar should be equipped with CCTV and proper lighting system. She also asked them to ensure proper barricading and deployment of security personnel at checkpoints.
Regarding health-care, the DC asked the CMO to depute adequate teams of doctors along with para medical staff and ambulances at yatri niwas and other required sites, who will perform their duties round the clock for the convenience of the pilgrims.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all the officers present in the meeting to ensure that all necessary arrangements for smooth conduct of Yatra to be carried out by their respective department are put in place well in time before the commencement of Yatra.
She also directed the concerned officers to gear up their men and machinery to ensure adequate arrangements for the comfortable journey and stay of Yatris. She asked the concerned departments to make sure that the pilgrims do not face any hardship on account of basic amenities.
