Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 12: Addressing a meeting organized by Dr. Tony Chowdhary and Sangeet Sharma at Machine Domana in Jammu North Assembly Constituency, Senior National Conference leader Ajay Kumar Sadhotra described the nine years of BJP government as an era of broken promises. He expressed his disappointment with the government's policies and stated that the people, especially in Jammu and Kashmir, are angry and determined to give the BJP a grand exit through the power of the ballot.
Sadhotra accused the BJP of exploiting religious sentiments, inciting nationalist passions, and creating divisions between communities to maintain their hold on power. He highlighted the failures of the government on various fronts, including rising unemployment, inflation, compromised national security, corruption, and nepotism.
He questioned the BJP's slogan of "Achhe Din Aayenge" (Good days will come) and criticized the party for failing to deliver on its promises, such as depositing Rs 15 lakh in every Indian family's account, bringing back black money, creating two crore jobs per year, doubling farmers' income, implementing people-friendly policies for economic growth, and ensuring the security of citizens.
Sadhotra also criticized the BJP's Ujwala Scheme, highlighting the lack of sustained support for poor women after providing them with a few cylinders. He expressed concern about the difficulties faced by students in pursuing higher education due to the cumbersome admission process and uncertainty regarding examination centers outside the Union Territory.
The former minister lamented the inadequate utility services and poor infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, including the failure of the Smart City concept. He mentioned the chaotic road conditions, inadequate power and water supply, and the misuse of pedestrian spaces for parking vehicles, posing risks to pedestrians.
In conclusion, Sadhotra termed the nine years of BJP government disastrous for the nation's future and pledged that the people will vote out the BJP in the 2024 elections. Several other speakers also expressed their views on the occasion.
