Mahashas community by holds meets

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, JAN 19: It is a matter of Great concern that ‘Mahashas’ community by with a population over two lakhs has no representation in the state legislature. There views were expressed at a meeting of Mahashas biradari held here today.
While addressing the members of the community its chairman Kasturi Lal said earlier there were two members in the assembly which rise to five in 1996. But in the elections of 2002 and 2008 community failed to send any body to legislator so that he can plead their case in the assembly. He said at present there is no leader in the community, which can take up the matter with regard un-employment etc with the Government. He said due to this community will not to in a position to fight for their just cause despite repeated verbal sympathies being extend from time to time.
He urged upon the community members of Kathua, Reasi, Jammu, Udhampur and Samba be unite and fight for the cause.
