Er Yatoo raises concerns over LG administration’s actions
6/13/2023 11:44:00 PM

Early Times Report

Srinagar, June 13: Er. Nazir Yatoo, Vice President of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Kashmir, expresses deep concerns regarding the recent decisions made by the LG administration, which are adversely impacting the lives of underprivileged Kashmiris. The imposition of property tax, installation of prepaid smart meters, and shortage of ration supplies are adding significant burdens to the already struggling population.
The imposition of property tax on poor Kashmiris is alarming, as it directly affects marginalized sections of society who are already facing financial challenges. This tax could have negative socio-economic consequences, making it increasingly difficult for the underprivileged to sustain themselves.
Furthermore, the installation of prepaid smart meters has placed an unfair burden on common Kashmiris. This move has substantially increased electricity costs for households, making it harder for families to meet their basic needs. The high charges associated with prepaid smart meters disproportionately impact vulnerable sections of society, exacerbating their struggles.
Moreover, the scarcity of ration supplies for common Kashmiris is a critical issue. It is distressing to note that ration depots lack sufficient stock to fulfill the basic food requirements of the population.
This scarcity directly affects the poorest households, pushing them into vulnerability and food insecurity. The LG administration must urgently address this issue and ensure adequate ration supplies for the welfare of common Kashmiris.
Er. Nazir Yatoo, representing the Aam Aadmi Party Kashmir, urges the LG administration to reconsider the decision to impose property tax on the poor, with a focus on alleviating the hardships faced by marginalized sections of society. Furthermore, he emphasizes the need for a fair and affordable energy distribution system, calling for a review of the installation of prepaid smart meters and the exploration of more equitable solutions. Finally, he demands immediate action to address the shortage of ration supplies and ensure that the most vulnerable members of society have access to the basic necessities required for survival.
The Aam Aadmi Party Kashmir stands in solidarity with the underprivileged Kashmiris and will continue to raise their concerns at all appropriate platforms. Er. Nazir Yatoo and the party remain dedicated to advocating for the rights and well-being of marginalized communities in Kashmir.
