Jammu City Beautification Progress Reviewed by Div Com

JAMMU, June 14: The Divisional Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar, chaired a meeting to discuss and review the progress of the Jammu City beautification plan. Several key areas were addressed during the meeting, with a focus on expediting major projects.
One of the main topics of discussion was the completion of mural paintings, particularly along the Jammu Airport road. The Divisional Commissioner emphasized the need to speed up the artwork to create an appealing visual experience for residents and visitors.
Another important issue discussed was the identification of suitable garbage dumping sites within the city. The Divisional Commissioner stressed the importance of cleanliness and timely waste collection to enhance the overall aesthetics of Jammu city.
Recognizing the significance of certain landmarks in Jammu city, the Div Com instructed the relevant authorities to prioritize the beautification of the road leading to Jammu University and Bagh-e-Bahu temple.
The meeting also addressed the cleaning of roads, flyovers, and side drains. The Divisional Commissioner highlighted the importance of maintaining infrastructure and ensuring unobstructed thoroughfares. Proper pruning of trees along the roads and their immediate disposal was emphasized to prevent traffic congestion.
In preparation for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra and to ensure smooth traffic movement, the Divisional Commissioner directed officers from the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) to expedite ongoing projects. The aim is to have the road infrastructure in optimal condition to accommodate the increased influx of pilgrims during the Yatra.
The Divisional Commissioner also called for the immediate removal of construction waste from roads to prevent any inconvenience or obstructions caused by debris and to maintain the cleanliness of the city.
Regarding the fourth Jammu Tawi bridge, the Div Com instructed responsible officers to address any infrastructure and maintenance-related issues to ensure smooth traffic movement.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Avny Lavasa, Director of Tourism Vivekanand Rai, Commissioner of JMC Rahul Yadav, Vice Chairman of JDA, Chief Engineers of PWD and Irrigation, along with various senior officers from concerned departments.
