| Pahari delegation meets CM | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, JANUARY 20 – A deputation of Pahari Cultural and Welfare Forum called on the Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah here today.
The deputation, led by Chairman of the Forum, Mr. Sharafat Ali Khan congratulated Mr. Abdullah on becoming the Chief Minister of the State. They assured wholehearted cooperation to him in his mission of making J&K a developed State. They also urged granting of ST status to Pahari-speaking people and presented their demands for development of the area.
Minister for Forests, Mian Altaf Ahmad, Political Advisor to Chief Minister, Mr. Devender Singh Rana, MLA, Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Ganai were also present on the occasion.
Responding to the demands of the deputation, the Chief Minister said that ensuring equitable and holistic development and progress of all the regions and areas as well as the people of the State is high on his agenda. He said whatever will be within the purview of the State Government would be done and that with the Centre would be pursued.
