Srinagar, July 11 : Chief Minister, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad has strongly condemned the grenade attacks on tourists and civilian at Dalgate, Lal Chowk, Regal Chowk and near TRC Srinagar claiming lives of innocents and injuring many others.
He said, “it is a clear proof that terrorists responsible for these acts are real enemies of Kashmiri people and are out to destroy the economy of the people which have already suffered a lot during the last 18 years of violence”.
He said time has come that all should rise to the occasion and get the state rid of violence culture forever, which has given nothing miseries.
Declaring the incidents as most unfortunate and inhuman, Mr. Azad said that violence mongers are bent upon to wash the hands with the blood of innocents and mar the tourist season, which has started picking up again. He said the repeated attacks on tourists clearly indicate that the elements behind such attacks want to wreck the economy of poor section of the people, whose livelihood is dependent on tourism.
He said people of the state are one in condemning such acts whemently and have time and again expressed their anguish unanimously over such acts of brutality.
Chief Minister said, “it seems that elements behind these acts of violence are a frustrated lot who have lost their ground and earned wide ranging hatred from one and all and seeing no future for violence in the state and no person ready to buy the ideas of killings, blood shed and public harassment, they are bent upon to indulge in such stray incidents out of total disappointment and frustration”.
Chief Minister visited SMHS hospital in Srinagar to enquire about the condition of injured and examined the medical facilities being provided to them.
Mr. Azad went to every injured and enquired about his welfare and directed the hospital authorities to provide free medical treatment of every nature to the injured.
