| JKNPP alleges step motherly treatment to Jammu youth | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 20- Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party has strongly condemned the "unjust, biased and discriminatory treatment" being doled out to the educated youth of Jammu region in the matter of employment. In a meeting of Panthers Legislature Party, the members accused the government of surpassing all records of step motherly treatment to Jammu youth by curtailing the posts of Jammu region and affecting a corresponding increase in the posts of Kashmir Valley. Divulging the developments in the meeting of Legislature Party, JKNPP leader, Harsh Dev Singh said that the move of the coalition government is highly deplorable, irresponsible and mischievous. He said that his party feels that it was the first doze of discrimination doled out by the present coalition government to Jammu region which needs to be vehemently opposed. He said that the SSB advertised 336 posts of teachers for District Udhampur but when it came for selection, it released a selection list of 290 candidates only and withdrew 46 posts. On the contrary, the posts of teachers in various Districts of Kashmir Valley including Srinagar, Kulgam, Budgam, Kupwara, Baramulla were increased; he said and added that the gain to Kashmir region was at the cost of Jammu region as the total planned posts for the state remained the same. He further said that the unemployed youth of Jammu region including the Engineers, ITI trained electricians, Agricultural Graduates, Home Guards have been given the shabbiest treatment by the government and the coalition government has not even bothered to enquire about the plight of the said youth sitting on dharna in the most hostile weather conditions. He said that there were about one lakh jobs avenues available in various government departments. The Education Department alone has about 12000 vacancies besides around 4000 promotional avenues at the level of teachers, masters, Headmasters and lecturers. The failure to fill up the said vacancies had not only deprived the eligible unemployed youth but had also affected adversely the functioning of the government. He said that JKNPP shall fight tooth and nail any attempt of the government to deprive the Jammu youth of its due share in employment, adding that his party stood for equitable share to all regions of the state and end to all discrimination against Jammu region. It reiterates its commitment to serve as the watchdogs of the interests of Jammu region.
