JAMMU, June 20: NHPC, a prominent hydropower company, made its mark at the Annual meeting of the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD 2023), held in Gothenburg, Sweden from 10th to 15th June 2023. Led by Shri R.P.Goyal, Director (Finance), and Shri Biswajit Basu, Director (Projects), the NHPC delegation actively engaged in the event, presenting papers on critical issues related to dam management and safety faced by hydropower developers. The presentations received high appreciation from fellow participants.
NHPC's expertise and capabilities in the field of hydropower development were showcased through a dedicated pavilion at the event. The delegation comprised esteemed members including M.G. Gokhale, Executive Director, Raghvendra Gupta, Group General Manager, Manjusha Mishra, General Manager, Manoj Kumar Singh, General Manager, R.M.A Khan, General Manager, Dinesh, Deputy General Manager, Sunil J. Ganvir, Deputy General Manager, Pradeep Garnayak, Senior Manager, Shri Mainak Ghosh, Senior Manager, Pallavi Khanna, Senior Manager, and Varun Agarwal, Manager.
NHPC officials delivered presentations and showcased posters on various critical topics including dam management and safety, seepage control measures, seismic aspects, and the repair and rehabilitation of dams and their structures. They actively participated in discussions held by the ICOLD technical committee on Sedimentation, sharing their valuable experiences in sediment management for projects in cascade.
