Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 20: Retired Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) Warriors Welfare Association in Jammu and Kashmir appealed to the central government to address their demands promptly and eliminate discrimination against them.
During a press conference at the Press Club, J&K President Ram Lal Dogra AC (Retd), accompanied by Chief Patron R.K Sharma IG (retd), emphasized that the association is actively pursuing the resolution of their demands. They acknowledged that some demands have already been addressed by the Central Government.
To expedite the redressal of pending demands, Ram Lal Dogra stressed that the association would intensify its efforts and called for public support to exert pressure on the government to prioritize their pending issues.
In a warning to the Central Government, he stated that if the Old Pension Scheme is not implemented in their favor, association members will stage a protest at Parliament in New Delhi.
Ram Lal Dogra urged the government to address all their demands expeditiously and expressed full support for retired paramilitary force personnel currently protesting at Jantar Mantar to have their demands addressed.
He criticized the government for the unfortunate situation where paramilitary force personnel, who dedicated their lives to the nation's sovereignty, have to resort to protests for the resolution of their demands.
Other attendees at the conference included retired officials such as DC Arjun Singh, AC Baldev Raj, AC Tulsidas, AC Bashi Ram, AC Yashpal, Inspector Thoru Ram, Inspector Chaggar Singh, Inspector Som Nath Sharma, Inspector Ram Prakash, SI Mohd Majeed, SI Faqir Singh, Ajit Singh Langeh, Rattan Lal Bodhraj, Swarandev Singh, and others.
Their demands encompassed the removal of wage/salary disparities between the military and paramilitary forces, separate treatment of paramilitary forces from Central Civil Service Rules, provision of special pay to paramilitary personnel akin to the Army, discontinuation of the new pension scheme in favor of the old scheme, implementation of the One Rank One Pension scheme, and granting them the same canteen benefits as defense personnel.
