Jammu, Jan 20– In a drive to check against the illegal use of electricity, Electric M&RE Sub Division-I Canal seized 30-35 electric heaters and removed illegal connection at Shiv Nagar, Shakti Nagar and Rajpura areas of Jammu west consistency
The drive has been launched under the supervision of Assistant Executive Engineer Somnath and Junior Engineer Ritu Dingra.
Assistant Executive Engineer said that in order take stringent measures to check power pilferage and remove illegal connections a team under his supervision comprising Junior Engineers, Inspectors, Meter-reader and Lineman inspected Shiv Nagar abd Rajpura and seized 30-35 electric heaters which were illegally being used.
He said this drive is also a part of vigorous campaign to educate the general public about the judicious use of electricity. These measures, he said, will minimize problem of low voltage, frequent burning of transformers and breakage in electric wires. He also appealed the people to cooperate with the department in improving its functioning.
