Early Times Report

Udhampur, June 21: Vice Chairperson of the District Development Council (DDC) Udhampur, Juhi Pathania, commended the “Har Ghar Ko Jal” initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, considering it a remarkable achievement of the government’s 9-year tenure. She expressed these views during Public Darbars held in BHQ Khoon, Bilaspur, and other areas of Khoon in Majalta Tehsil.
During the event, she inaugurated the construction of components (filter plant, sump tank, and pump room) for the WSS Bilaspur-Deot under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). This ambitious project, estimated at Rs 1.35 crore, aims to resolve water crises in the region and enhance the quality of life in rural areas.
Pathania emphasized the importance of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) sector and urged officers and officials to work diligently to ensure timely completion of projects, providing tap water to every household and habitation.
She praised the efforts of the Bharat Sarkar (Government of India) in addressing long-standing issues faced by the people and stressed the need for effective implementation of schemes and programs by the PHE department.
The Vice Chairperson highlighted the Jal Jeevan Mission’s objective of providing functional tap water connections to all households, emphasizing that access to clean drinking water is a fundamental right. She also listened to public grievances and directed concerned authorities to prioritize their resolution.
Pathania emphasized the importance of coordination between the general public and various departments for the speedy development of the area and the resolution of public issues. She pledged to address the day-to-day administrative and developmental challenges faced by the people through direct interaction and efficient solutions.
Accompanied by officials from different departments, including Education, Rural Development, Power, Public Health Engineering, Forest, and Health, Pathania reaffirmed the party’s principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” (Collective Effort, Inclusive Development) and vowed to work for the upliftment of rural areas.
