DC chairs District Road Safety Committee meeting

RAJOURI, June 23: To review implementation of road safety plan aimed at to minimise road mishaps in the district, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, today chaired a crucial meeting of the District Road Safety committee. The meeting was attended by a panel of esteemed officers, including ADC Rajouri, Rajeev Kumar Khajuria; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; ASP, Vivek Shekhar; SE PWD(R&B), Vikram Singh; CMO, Dr Rajinder Sharma; ARTO, Pawan Sharma; XEn PWD (R&B) Rajouri, Sardar Khan; XEn PWD(R&B) Nowshera, VK Raina and other concerned officers. At the outset, a detailed presentation on i-RAD/e Dar was given by District Roll out Manager, Pankaj Sabharwal highlighting different aspects of road safety and steps being taken to minimise the road accidents in the district. The Committee inquired about the awareness activities, establishment of a trauma centre, identification of black spots, erecting of crash barriers and other measures suggested for enhancing road safety in the district. The DC emphasized the need to spread mass awareness on critical issues of public safety and prevention of road accidents, injuries, and fatalities. He urged the stakeholder departments to encourage the road users to respect each other's safety while driving and take necessary precautions to ensure the safety of themselves and others. To enforce road safety norms, the DC directed the Traffic and Motor Vehicle Department Authorities to conduct special drives to keep check on traffic rule violations and take strict action against the offenders. The meeting reiterated the commitment of promoting road safety and ensuring the well-being of the citizens. The measures discussed during the meeting are being implemented effectively to make travelling on the roads in the district more safe and secure.
