Early Times Report
RAJOURI, June 23: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) of Rajouri, Pawan Parihar today chaired a meeting to review the activities and orientation of farmers under Kisan Sampark Abhiyan (Farmers’ Contact Campaign) being held to promote Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP). Several officers and department heads attended the meeting to discuss the ongoing farmers’ orientation program.
The District Sheep Husbandry Officer, who acts as the District Nodal Officer for the program, provided an update on the activities carried out under the Kisan Sampark Abhiyan since its commencement on April 24.
The campaign, which is scheduled to conclude on August 31, 2023, aims to cover a total of 259 venues. It was reported that 158 venues have already been covered, demonstrating significant progress.
The officer highlighted that a substantial number of farmers have participated in the program, with 17,493 individuals attending the orientation sessions thus far.
The ADDC emphasized the importance of facilitating the distribution of ‘Kisan Smart Cards’ and raising awareness about them among the farming community. In this regard, the Local Lead Bank (LDM) was urged to direct banks to assist in the distribution process.
Furthermore, the ADDC called upon the Sectoral Officers of Agriculture and allied departments to actively promote the program and ensure widespread publicity.
This approach aims to encourage maximum participation from the farming community and enhance the campaign’s effectiveness. The meeting was attended by the Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, District Sericulture Officer, Assistant Director of Fisheries, Local Lead Bank (LDM) representative, District Sericulture Extension Officer (DSEO), and other officers from the Agriculture and Allied departments.
The ongoing Kisan Sampark Abhiyan under the HADP not only serves as a platform to disseminate information to farmers but also plays a crucial role in empowering them with knowledge and resources necessary for agricultural development.
