ADDC reviews progress of RDD sector works

KISHTWAR, June 24: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kishtwar, Sham Lal today presided over a meeting of block-level functionaries here in the Conference Hall of DC Office Complex to review the progress of works taken up in the fiscal years 2022-23 and 2023-24 under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), Area Development Plan, Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA), Community Development (CD) & Panchayats, and other heads.
The meeting was attended by key officers including ACD, Sunil Bhutyal, CEO, Prehlad Bhagat; Executive Engineer Rural Engineering Wing, Mulk Raja and all Block Development Officers (BDOs), Panchayat Secretaries, and Technical Assistants.
The ADDC reviewed the physical and financial status of ongoing works in different blocks and sectors. He specifically examined the progress of estimation, administrative approval, tendering, work allotment, and execution of projects under MGNREGA, District Capex, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), CD Panchayat, and other sectors.
ACD, Sunil Bhutyal informed the chair that a total of 1378 works have been proposed under DDC, BDC and PRI plans of the Capex Budget, out of which 1081 work estimates have been submitted. Additionally, 953 works have been granted administrative approval, and 803 works have been tendered out.
The ADDC emphasized the need for following a target-driven approach to ensure the timely completion of all projected works.
The ADDC also reviewed the liability, billing, expenditure, work updation, and estimation for the years 2021-22 and 2022-23 on a panchayat-wise basis, and issued necessary directions to the BDOs.
The ADDC stressed the importance of timely payments, the completion of geo-tagging for phase II of assets, the completion of Amrit Sarovars, the construction of PMAY houses, and Aadhaar seedings. He set deadlines for the same and urged executing agencies to expedite tendering processes and increase the pace of work in snow-bound areas to ensure completion before the onset of winter.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of works related to Machail Mata Yatra and the RR plan in Nagseni.
Various issues and bottlenecks affecting the progress of works were discussed, and the BDOs and RDD functionaries were directed to work collectively and collaboratively to ensure the timely completion of important public projects and achieve tangible results at the ground level.
