| 3 cops arrested for selling arms | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar: Three cops including two Special Police Officers have been reportedly arrested for their involvement in selling arms and ammunition to Territorial Army in Sogam area of the north Kashmir's Kupwara district, sources told PBI. A police team after specific information arrested two Special Police Officers and a police constable for their alleged involvement in selling arms and ammunition to 180 Territorial Army. "The trio was caught red handed while selling the arms to Territorial Army personnel Rafiq Ahmad," sources confirmed to Press Bureau of India. The sources identified the cops as Bilal Ahmad (1148), Tariq Ahmad (441), SPOs and Constable Bashir Ahmad. If sources are to be believed the trio is associated with Special Operation group of Police, stationed at Sogam. Interestingly, the trio was in constant touch with Feroz Ahmad, who works for the Territorial Army. Police sources told PBI that Feroz too has been detained for questioning. However, senior police officials remained tight lipped about the incident. When contacted, Superintendent of Police, Kupwara, Uttam-chand denied any such information. "There is absolutely no such information available with us," he told Press Bureau of India.
