Drug abuse awareness lecture, mass awareness campaign held

RS PURA, June 26: The Drug De-addiction & Rehabilitation Cell (DDRC) in collaboration with the 2 J&K Girls Bn NCC of GDC, R. S. Pura organized a lecture to commemorate the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The event focused on this year's theme "People First: Stop Stigma and Discrimination, Strengthen Prevention." The program was held under the banner of AKAM and the Presidency of G-20, with the patronage of Principal Prof. Rajni Bhagat and under the supervision of Prof. Balwan Singh, Convener of DDRC, and Lt. Shaveta Chowdhary, ANO of the Girls NCC Unit.
Dr. Chakraverti Mahajan, Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Delhi, was the resource person for the lecture. Dr. Anuradha delivered the formal welcome address, and Dr. Mahajan extensively spoke about drug de-addiction and mental health, relating it to this year's theme. He emphasized the impact of stigma on the mental health of addicted youth and emphasized the need for society to work together to prevent alienation and reintegrate them into the mainstream.
Lt. Shaveta Chowdhary delivered the formal vote of thanks, and the event was attended by Dr. Neena Gupta, Dr. Anuradha, Prof. Ehsan Wani, Prof. Vijay Kumari, and Prof. Rakesh Choudhary.
In addition to the lecture, as a conclusion to the week-long activities, a mass awareness campaign was organized. The girl cadets interacted with people in the college's vicinity, particularly focusing on youth, to spread the message of adopting good habits instead of indulging in drugs.
