Rs 15 cr released for various works in Srinagar

Jammu January 21- An amount of Rs 15 crore have been released for undertaking various works including upgradation of various roads and addressing the sewerage problems in Srinagar city.
This was disclosed in a meeting held by the Minister for Rural Development and Panchyati Raj Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar with Financial Commissioner Planning Mr. S.L. Bhat and Secretary Housing and Urban Development Department Mrs Naseema Lankar here today.
The amount would be utilized for improving the road connectivity in Srinagar city and widening and macadamization of various roads which include Ali Kadal-wazapora, Fateh-kadal-Khankah Mohalla and Darish-kadal roads.
The Minister asked the Chief Engineer R&B Kashmir to expedite the execution of works undertaken in old Srinagar city on priority basis. He also directed concerned to submit an action taken report of the ongoing works so that their progress can be monitored effectively. The work on Zakoora-Dalgate road would be expedited to strengthen the road network to facilitate the locals and the tourists visiting the area, he added.
