Dr KCG Verghese excellence awards celebrates achievements of eminent personalities

CHENNAI, June 26: The Hindustan Group of Institutions, a renowned educational institution, hosted the 4th edition of the Dr. K.C. G. Verghese Excellence Awards 2023 on Saturday, 24th June 2023 at ITC Grand Chola, Chennai. These awards, established in memory of the esteemed Founder-Chairman, Late Dr. K.C.G. Verghese, aim to honor and celebrate the accomplishments of distinguished individuals from around the world. This year, 32 eminent personalities were recognized for their outstanding contributions.
The event was presided over by Chairman HGI, Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, along with other dignitaries including Dr. Elizabeth Verghese (Founder Chairperson), Ashok Verghese (Vice President, HGI), Dr. Susan Verghese (Vice President, HGI), Dr. Annie Jacob (Director, KCG College of Technology), and Dr. Aby Sam (Executive Director, HGI).
N. Ram, a prominent Indian Journalist and Director of the Hindu Group Publishing Private Limited, graced the event as the chief guest. In his address, N. Ram lauded the efforts of the Hindustan Group in preparing students for a rapidly changing world and commended their commitment to recognizing accomplished individuals across various sectors. He emphasized the need for India to strive for excellence of the highest standards. T. S. Tirumurti, IFS (Retired), Former Indian Ambassador to the United Nations, delivered a felicitation speech highlighting the global sustainability challenges and the role of educated and knowledgeable India in finding innovative solutions with collaboration and empathy. Michaela Küchler, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany, the guest of honor, acknowledged the long-standing Indo-German cooperation in education, technology, and student research exchange, and appreciated the contribution of the Hindustan Group in this bilateral exchange.
