| GDC Gool observes International Day against drug abuse, illicit trafficking | | |

Gool, June 26: Under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, NSS Unit and the Eco Club Green Gool of GDC Gool observed International Day Against Drug Abuse And Illicit Trafficking under the theme “People First: Stop Stigma and Discrimination, Strengthen Prevention” in the multipurpose hall of the College on 26 June 2023. This day is being observed on the aforementioned theme internationally.
The programme commenced with the opening remarks of the Principal of the college Dr. Karan Singh who also presided over the event. Esteemed Principal put thorough light on the topic. After human trafficking drug is the alarming problem being faced these days, he added. Later, Professor S.A. Ganai HOD English also delivered an insightful speech on the relevance of the day.
He impressed upon the students that they should stay away from such elements who are involved in drug menace.
As large numbers of drug rackets are being regulated by the peddlers and student community is their prime target.
He also advised the students if they get to know about such bad elements of society they should inform law enforcement agencies immediately.
A good number of students were present on the occasion. Later a pledge against substance use was also administered to the staff, students and senior citizens of the locality.
The pledge was read out by Prof. Gopal Singh (HOD Dogri). Other staff members who were present on the occasion included Dr. Zafar Hayat (HOD Arabic), Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed Bhat (HOD Political Science) and Mr. Mohd Younus Saleem (Assistant Professor of English). |
