6/27/2023 10:53:51 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 27: Under the chairmanship of Mohinder Singh, Chief Organizer of Bhai Khanaya Nishkam Sewa Society J&K and Ex-Member of DGPC Jammu, an emergency meeting was held by various Sikh organizations in Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting addressed several general issues, including a recent incident involving Yashpal Sharma, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Corporator from Ward No. 35 in the Municipal Corporation Jammu.
During the meeting, it was strongly condemned that Yashpal Sharma referred to Sikh Corporator Prof. Youdhvir Singh from Ward No. 73 as a Khalistani. The Sikh organizations demanded immediate legal action against Yashpal Sharma and urged Mayor Rajinder Sharma of JMC to expel him from the house. Corporator S. Youdhvir Singh, a retired principal of a government college and a staunch nationalist, was praised for his dedication to the law and his nationalist views.
According to statements from other members of the Jammu Municipal Corporation, the proceedings of the corporation had been delayed for four months, and members were required to submit resolutions regarding public issues falling under the jurisdiction of Jammu Municipal Corporation, such as water shortages and irregular electricity supply. Yash Pal Sharma intentionally diverted the discussion by resorting to communal tactics and calling S. Youdhvir Singh a Khalistani, resulting in chaos and a shift in the agenda of the house.
Support from secular-minded individuals from all walks of life was extended to S. Youdhvir Singh, condemning the remarks made by Yashpal Sharma. The Sikh organizations demanded immediate action against Yashpal Sharma for his behavior.
