Early Times Report
DODA, June 27: The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) in Jammu and Kashmir, along with Ladakh, organized an outreach program called "Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0" at the Green Model Higher Secondary School in Doda. The event, held on 27th June 2023, aimed to raise awareness about social security and educate participants about the various EPF schemes.
The program commenced with the presence of Rizwan Uddin, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner for J&K and Ladakh, who inaugurated the session and emphasized the importance of social security in today's context. Commissioner Uddin shed light on the key features of the Employees' Pension Scheme, 1995, and the Employees' Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme, 1976, which were extended to workers in J&K and Ladakh from November 2019.
During the workshop, participants engaged in a productive dialogue where issues faced by establishments and employees were addressed. Shri Raja Sekhar Dasari, SSSA, provided practical guidance and solutions to help resolve these challenges.
Shri O. P. Chandail, Principal of Green Model Higher Secondary School Doda, expressed gratitude to the P.F. Commissioner for his visit and support in assisting both employees and employers in the district. The event saw the active participation of representatives from various schools and contractors.
Additionally, the P.F. Commissioner highlighted the importance of enrolling eligible employees as EPF members. He stressed that failure to do so could result in appropriate action being taken against principal employers and contractors under the provisions of the EPF and MP Act, 1952.
The "Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0" program extended beyond Doda, with similar events organized at the DC Office in Kathua, Delhi Public School in Budgam, and Ladakh Hills International School in Leh. These programs proved fruitful in spreading awareness about the various EPF schemes and providing prompt service delivery to all stakeholders.
