| 55% expenditure booked under BADP in Leh | | | Early Times Report Leh Jan 21- Nearly 55 per cent expenditure has been booked under Border Area Development Program in four blocks of Ladakh district by the end of December last. Giving details at the 3rd General Council meeting of the LAHDC, the CEC Chering Dorje said that over Rs 3.17 crore have been expended on various developmental schemes under BADP (Indo-China) in Durbuk and Nyoma blocks of Leh district by ending December 2008 against the allocation of Rs 8.34 crore while as Rs 1.57 crore has been spent against the allocation of Rs 2.38 crore under Additional Action Plan (BADP) Indo-China during the same period in these two blocks. He said likewise, under BADP (Indo-Pak) Rs 1.71 crore have been spent out of the allocation of Rs 3.70 crore in Khaltsi and Nubra blocks up to ending December last while Rs 83.40 lakhs have been incurred against the outlay of Rs 1.10 crore under Additional Action Plan of BADP in these blocks during the same period.. He said that under the program various public works like school hostel buildings, additional rooms for schools and health centers, science labs, community halls, Ice-hockey rings, roads and bridges, circular and link roads, women gathering centers, PHE schemes, ration go downs, foot paths, irrigational canals, reservoirs, community plantation schemes, command area development have been taken up. Appreciating the district administration for registering a very good percentage in both financial and physical achievement under district plan, he thanked the Executive Councilors for presentably explaining the performances under different sectors and praised the Councilors for monitoring developmental schemes being carried out in their constituencies. He urged the implementing agencies to achieve 70% physical and financial targets under BADP programs by the end of this month to ensure further flow of funds from the Government. The Executive Councilors, Tsering Nurbu Lampa, Dorje Motup, Mohammed. Khan and Stanzin Delik and the Deputy Commissioner AK Sahu, the Councilors and the district officers were present in the meeting.
