NEW DELHI, June 29: Commenting on the recent visit of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's to the US, FICCI President, Mr Subhrakant Panda said, "Our Prime Minister's visit to the United States has been very successful with several substantial outcomes relating to defence acquisitions which will enhance national security, access to critical technology, potential investment in semiconductors, Artemis Accord for space cooperation and settlement of the pending trade disputes.
The cooperation between the US Small Business Administration and India's MSME Ministry will also be very beneficial for Indian entrepreneurs. This is the start of a new era in US-India relationship where there is mutual trust and convergence of views on strategic issues.
This will benefit not just the two nations but the world at large." Shailesh K Pathak, Secretary General, FICCI said, "The visit of the Prime Minister to the US is a successful visit especially from the business perspective. FICCI is delighted with some specific achievements out of the visit. Under the Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET), we already have agreements on defence, space, and semiconductors. Now that government has paved the way, the private sector will rise and partner with American and Indian companies.
The movement of professionals, renewal of H1B visa and increase in visa offices will help the tech industry. We have managed to settle the WTO disputes bilaterally which is a healthy sign." Rajesh Sharma chairman, state council, Jammu and Kashmir said, that the monumental visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the United States has ushered in a new phase of a robust collaboration between the two countries. This is exemplified through several strategic partnerships in defence, semiconductors, and space exploration. The defence partnership promises an infusion of advanced technology, improving security parameters. The semiconductor industry in India is set to receive a significant boost, with major US companies pledging to augment the sector. Additionally, India's involvement in the Artemis Accords and a proposed joint mission with NASA marks a new frontier in space exploration. The visit has also paved the way for improved trade ties, demonstrated by the resolution of pending disputes at the WTO and the removal of select tariffs imposed by India on US goods. The revision in visa regulations is another noteworthy outcome, poised to benefit many skilled Indian professionals. The partnership between the US Small Business Administration and India's Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises underscores the commitment to upskilling employees and fostering entrepreneurship. This historic visit represents a significant leap forward in India-US relations, signalling the dawn of an era characterised by mutual growth and shared aspirations. The unfolding of this 'next-generation partnership' is keenly awaited as we anticipate the positive outcomes of this strengthened alliance.
