Early Times Report

Jammu, July 3: Under the esteemed leadership of Chairman S.S. Sodhi, the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society gathered in New Delhi to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima. Members of the civil society came together to pay tribute to the profound influence of gurus in personal and spiritual growth.
Guru Purnima holds great significance across various spiritual and philosophical traditions as a day to acknowledge the invaluable role played by gurus or spiritual mentors in guiding individuals on their paths to enlightenment. Chairman S.S. Sodhi, leading the J&K Civil Society with a vision for the welfare and upliftment of the Jammu and Kashmir region, along with other members, took this opportunity to honor the profound impact gurus have on personal and spiritual growth, particularly Guru Maa, the first guru who provides guidance in everyone's lives.
The gathering began with all members expressing reverence and gratitude for their respective gurus. They appreciated and thanked the executive body for their initiative in remembering gurus on Guru Purnima. Chairman Sodhi emphasized that a guru can be anyone who possesses deep knowledge, wisdom, and expertise in a particular field, serving as a mentor and guide. Being a guru goes beyond expertise and encompasses qualities such as compassion, empathy, humility, and a genuine desire to uplift and guide others. Various professionals who embody these qualities in their respective domains deserve respect. The teachings imparted by gurus transcend religious and cultural boundaries, and gurus may include parents, teachers, doctors, sports coaches, artists, musicians, dancers, painters, actors, and all those who inspire and guide their pupils to excel academically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually, instilling values and encouraging critical thinking while shaping characters.
The event included interactive sessions where members shared their personal experiences and insights gained from their gurus, expressing heartfelt gratitude. The exchange of ideas fostered an atmosphere of learning and unity, exemplifying the ethos of the J&K Civil Society. Members collectively sought blessings for their spiritual progress and reaffirmed their commitment to the principles of unity, compassion, and service to society.
Chairman S.S. Sodhi extended heartfelt wishes to the community at large, urging everyone to reflect upon the significance of gurus and their profound impact on personal growth, spiritual enlightenment, and societal well-being. He emphasized the need to recognize the selfless contributions of gurus and expressed deep gratitude for their invaluable guidance, which has positively impacted the lives of countless individuals.
