| Taj for timely completion of Sitlee project | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, JANUARY 22 – The Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Mr Taj Mohi-ud-Din conducted surprise inspection of the 111-phase of Sitlee Water Supply Scheme near Nargrota Jammu today. The Minister had complaint regarding the pace of construction work on the project. He directed the concerned agency JKPCC to ensure completion of the work as per specifications and time frame. He stressed on quality control and warned that any lapse or loophole on the part of quality of work would not be tolerated. The Minister impressed upon the JKPCC to make all efforts to complete the project as per target, adding that government will not tolerate any negligence whatsoever in the completion of the project as per time frame and in accordance with the specifications The 4.5 MGD capacity filtration plant, envisaging augmentation of drinking water of Jammu, is scheduled to be completed by the end of March-09. Earlier, the Minister inspected over head Water Tank near Civil Secretariat, Jammu and instructed the concerned engineers to repair cracks developed on the reservoir. He also ordered for construction of a new tank in double shift at the same site. Later, the Minister visited Water Pumping Station at Company Bagh and ordered for construction of one more water reservoir there. The Minister was accompanied by the Chief Engineer, PHE, Mr. A.K. Abrol, Superintendent Engineer ERA, Mr. Din Mohammad Ladakhi, Superintendent Engineer, PHE, J.K . Gupta, Exen PHE (City), Mr. Shiv Nanda and Xen PHE Mechanical North, Mr. Gagan Jyoti.
