| Sagar visits of Ghank model village | | | Early Times Report Jammu January 22- Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar today conducted surprise visit of Ghank being developed as a model village and directed the concerned to expedite the remaining work at an earliest. The Minister also inspected the BDO office Bhalwal and took stock over the functioning of the community information centre (CIC). He asked the concerned to upgrade the existing infrastructure and impart proper training and other facilities to the trainees "every sort of information should be provided to the visitors who come for the same". He also passed orders for the proper verification of the cheques distributed under Indra Awas Yojana (IAY) and asked the Additional Secretary Rural Development and Joint Director Planning to verify the same. He instructed the concerned that the funds released under the Self-Help Group (SHG) should also be properly verified so that the funds earmarked for the same are used judiciously The minister asked the functionaries of the rural development department to reach out to the rural masses to assess their needs, so that these are taken care of. He also asked them to consult the people while formulating plans for the rural works, so that the benefits of these percolate to the targeted level. The Minister also checked the attendance of the officials of the block and directed the concerned BDO to take strict action against the officials who were not present. Sagar also inspected the Panchayat Ghar at Kote. The Minster was accompanied by the District Development Commissioner, Jammu, Assistant commissioner Development and senior officers of the Department.
